TikTok, one of the newer social media platforms, continues to grow as it’s the 7th most-used social network and has over 689 million global active users. Many businesses and individuals have already started capitalizing on its popularity and growth by creating accounts and advertising on the platform. Through TikTok, there are 5 primary ways to run advertisements.
Ads appear in the native news feed of TikTok on the For You Page
The ad appears when TikTok users open the app and completely take over the screen for a few seconds before turning into an In-Feed Video ad.
Ads appear on the Discovery Page. It encourages users to participate in user content creation challenges. These can include a shoppable component for retailers.
Branded AR Content
The ad appears as branded lenses, stickers, and other 2D/3D/AR content for TikTok users to use in their videos.

Ads appear as part of sponsored content created by a TikTok user with influence in your market .
Getting Started with Advertising
All except the first method of advertising on TikTok require users to use a TikTok ad account manager, which can be found through TikTok for business. Once you complete setting up your account, go to the Campaign tab to start creating your first ad campaign!
TikTok has three levels to help you organize your campaign: campaigns, ad groups, and ads. Campaigns is the top level where you define your campaigns with one primary objective and a budget. Within a campaign, you can find one or more ad groups, which you will define using ad placements, target audiences, budget, and a schedule. Finally, under the ad group, you can find one or more ads. With ads, you create video content ads to reach your ad group and target audience.
